Community Involvement
Many of our employees are involved in their communities by being on boards or volunteering. Organizations include United Way of Western Nebraska, Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development, Volunteer Fire Departments, City Councils, Village Boards, County Fair Boards, 4-H Clubs, Service Organizations, Human Resource Committees, Local Museums and attractions, Community Health Organizations, local school booster clubs, and churches. Each year Legacy Coop donates thousands of dollars to organizations throughout our trade territory. Main Street Market Stores have their Receipts for Cash Program, that donates to 501c3 organizations in the communities where they are located.
Employee activities and communication
Each year we have Employee Appreciation Events, such as an Employee Luau and OctoberFest Celebration, with a Costume Contest. We also contribute to local county fairs and celebrations by hosting Pancake Breakfasts and Cookouts for the communities. Employees receive a monthly Employee Newsletter and a monthly HR Newsletter. There are also Employee Meetings Annually.
