Dustan Keener

I grew up on a family farm northeast of Mitchell, Nebraska, in the Sunflower community, where I learned early on that hard work builds character—and that equipment only breaks down when you need it most. After graduating from Mitchell High School, I attended WNCC to study welding, because things break faster than you can say “that wasn’t supposed to fall off.” If you can weld it back together, you’re a hero. If you can’t, well… you learn to look confident while holding a grinder!

My career began in row‑crop and cow/calf operations before I spent 12½ years at a Case IH dealership in Scottsbluff. During that time, I gained extensive experience in parts, service, and GPS technology solutions. I also learned that everyone describes equipment noises differently, but somehow, we always figure it out.

After a short return to the farm, I joined the Coop in August 2023. I started in the Agronomy Department in Hemingford, earned my Part 107 drone license, and helped bring precision ag services back into the operation. Eventually, I transitioned into my current role as a Certified Energy Specialist with Legacy Coop.

Serving the farmers and ranchers of our trade area is something I take great pride in. My goal is to provide high‑quality lubricants, refined fuels, and dependable service—built on trust, strong relationships, and the occasional light‑hearted comment to make the day go a little smoother.

My wife, Michelle, and I have been married for 22 years. We have three kids—Tyler (and his wife Winter), Kaitlyn, and Brenden—and one beautiful granddaughter, Oakley Ann. When I’m not helping producers or following our kids’ activities, you will usually find me “farming” our sweet corn patch with my dad. It’s our version of quality time—and the corn seems to appreciate the supervision.
